'My Youth Romantic Comedy Is Wrong As I Expected' Light Novels Get TV Anime

posted on 2012-07-09 08:30 EDT

Wataru Watari's story about unfriendly boy who joins service club with his school's prettiest girl

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A flyer for Shogakukan's Gagaga Bunko imprint is revealing that television anime adaptations of Wataru Watari's Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. (My youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected.) light novel series and Shin Araki's GJ-bu Chūtō-bu (GJ Club, Junior High School Division) light novel series have been green-lit.

Watari's romantic comedy revolves around an antisocial high school student named Hachiman Hikigaya with a distorted view on life and no friends or girlfriend. When he see his classmates talking excitedly about living their adolescent lives, he mutters, "They're a bunch of liars." When he is asked about his future dreams, he responds, "Not working." A teacher gets Hachiman to join the volunteer "service club," which happens to have the school's prettiest girl, Yukino Yukinoshita.

Watari launched the light novel series with illustrations by Ponkan8 last year, and the fifth volume is shipping on July 18.

I figured I'd get a jump on the upcoming TBS series for the Spring '13 season, since Sentai has been snatching up all the recent TBS series.

I've never been able get the PVs on any TBS site to work.
The YT vid that was posted has been blocked, so I guess the only way to see it is the TBS site in my first post, if you can get it to work.

And here's the English TBS promo flyer.
I changed the title to reflect the English title, incase Sentai sticks with that.

Ep. 01

That was actually a pretty good introductory first episode.

Though it did get a bit heavy on the verbal sparring match part, which made it drag a bit.
All in all though, this looks like it'll turn out to be a rather good series thus far.

The TAN premiere is errored on the greyed out Language Selection screen.
So it looks like you'll have to wait on this one until they're back in the office tomorrow morning.

It is rather good. Kinda reminds me of Hagani with the Toradora protaginist vibe. And it has one of the greatest teachers ever!

I am glad to see this one and a few others coming here though. I was watched out on shows I like so had to go to another site and found some. Luckily, they are all here now

My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU Gets More Anime

posted on 2013-05-16 11:00 EDT

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru anime spinoff episode, game OVA

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The ongoing anime My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU (Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru./My youth romantic comedy is wrong as I expected.) received four major announcements on Thursday:

1. The anime will adapt the content from Wataru Watari's original light novel series up until the sixth volume (with the cultural festival story). Shogakukan just published the seventh volume in March.

2. The production and broadcast of a brand-new anime-only spinoff episode has been green-lit. The spinoff episode will air the week after the 12th episode of the main series airs.

3. Production on a separate new original video anime has also been green-lit. This video anime will be bundled in the limited edition of the tentatively titled Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Come wa Machigatteiru. PlayStation Vita game this summer from 5pb.

4. Watari himself is writing the scripts for the anime spinoff episode and the original video anime bundled with the game. Both will depict stories that were not in the original light novel series. This will mark Watari's anime screenwriting debut.

In addition, a My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU advertising bus will be running service from May 18 to May 26 in Tokyo's Akihabara, Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Ikebukuro areas. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime series outside of Japan as it airs, and Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for North America. The seven light novel volumes have over 1 million copies in print.
