Here's something else that's scary - people with bad grammar and spelling. I weep for today's youth.
It is too easy to get in the habit of doing. As with all habits they stick to you and are hard to break. Even with trying to keep my grammar/punctuation/spelling conditioning intact, there will be times that I will reread something multiple times and miss a mistake.
Now that... is scary that I will look a mistake over that many times when staring right at it! I must be a bit dyslexic. Who knows... maybe not or maybe so.
Not talking about the occasional mistake, I'm talking about ones with half-sentences, constant misspelling and text-speak. Read More...
Paul Walker plays the role of the martial arts ace cop in this remake. Does he have the physical chops for that? I've been enjoying my Anime Network subscription for the most part. Since I've joined, I've started to notice that some of the dubbed videos are probably not the final versions to be released. ( and I'm not talking about any type of censorship either.)
The following are a couple issues that I've have really stuck out to me. This isn't something that needs to be necessarily fixed. I'm just letting you guys know in case no one is aware that this is happening. What you choose to do with this is up to you.
Kill Me Baby - Episode 12
In the dubbed version, two lines of a discussion between Sonya(Lucy Christian) and Yasuna Oribe(Hilary Haag) are cut off. This occurs around 16:20. The dialogue is as follows:
(*Clock ticking sound effect* starts at 16:12) Sonya: (16:15) Does anyone ever blame the hero of the of the story for killing the bad guys? Sonya: (16:19) Think of it as the same th- Yasuna Oribe: (16:23) Now you're really calling yourself a h--- Yasuna Oribe: (16:26) Are you feeling okay? Sonya: (16:28) (clenches hands angrily) For god sake, I was trying to explain it to you at your level!
Mysterious Girlfriend X - Episode 11
In the dubbed version, Mikoto Urabe (Genevieve Simmons) says "Got it." at a low volume when her character is not speaking. This occurs around 16:30. The dialogue is as follows:
(piano/strings background music) Mikoto Urabe: (16:21)... because... because your drool is unbelievably sweet. Aika Hayakawa: (16:27) (*Mmm*)
(Akira Tsubaki stands up at 16:29) Genevieve Simmons???: (16:30) Got it. Akira Tsubaki: (16:32) Did they work everything out?
