Now, tension mount between the Japanese living in Taiwan and its own native citizens as work becomes scarce and living conditions deteriorate. Genichiro Ryu, a Japanese refugee adopted by Taiwanese parents, must find a way to bring people together in harmony before long-simmering resentments erupt into a full-scale riot.
