Sora no Otoshimono's 3rd Anime Season Listed

posted on 2012-01-22 11:05 EST

Heaven's Lost Property's 3rd season listed in screenshot of ad

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Japanese publisher Kadokawa Shoten began airing a television commercial for the March issue of its Monthly Shonen Ace magazine this past week, and a purported high-definition screenshot from the ad indicates that a third anime season of Sora no Otoshimono (Heaven's Lost Property) has been green-lit. The ad itself hints that the March issue will contain an "important announcement" for Sora no Otoshimono. The issue will go on sale on Thursday, January 26.

The two previous Sora no Otoshimono television anime seasons and film adapt Suu Minazuki's manga of the same name. The story follows a boy's life which is turned upside down by an angel falling from the skies. Crunchyroll streamed both of the television seasons outside Japan, and Funimation licensed both television anime series and the film for North America.

Jewelpet Magical Girl Anime Gets 4th TV Show, 1st Film (Updated)

posted on 2012-02-05 22:00 EST

Latest projects based on Sanrio/Sega character & toy line

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After three television anime series, the Jewelpet magical girl anime franchise gets its fourth television anime series this April and its first film this August. Gekijo-ban Jewelpet Sweets Dance Princess will open in Japan on August 11.

Sanrio and Sega Toys launched their Jewelpet character and toy line in 2008, and the first Jewelpet anime followed a year later. Each Jewelpet toy is a stuffed animal; in the storyline, these pets belonged to magicians in "Jewelland" and can use magic themselves, thanks to their round jewel eyes. They study every day to learn how to use magic.

The Jewelpet franchise started out with 33 different creatures in 2008, but with the launch of the new television anime series, it will have 52 different characters. That includes 12 new Sweetspet creatures that are being introduced in the current Jewelpet Sunshine television anime series.

The story of the new film is set in Sweetsland, a country next to Jewelland. Ruby and the other Jewelpets are celebrating the birthday of the princess with dancing. However, during the preparations for the birthday party, a mysterious object appears from the skies. In the object is a Sweetspet boy, whose identity is unknown.

Update: The fourth television series, tentatively titled, Jewelpet Kira?Deco—!, will premiere on April 7.
