Ewwww at them licensing the TV series. I can't stress enough how disappointing I found the TV series. I knew Sentai knew better I'd thought Funimation did to. Guess I was wrong.
As much as I disliked the TV series, it kind of goes hand-in-hand with the movie.
I haven't seen it to verify, but otherwise, you'll probably never get to find out why Saya hates Fumito so much.

Pup's Ewwwwwww comment matches up with the response to most of the Internet on this announcement. In fact, this is just about the only show I haven't heard one positive comment about. Mostly I've heard it's terrible. I think I'll skip it.

Actually, I don't think anyone is particularly happy about this one...lol. Literally every comment I've seen on other forums is something along the line of Pup's remark. I can't remember the last time I've seen such negative responses to a license announcement. Even Sentai's acquisition of Akikan had a couple people that were excited.

As many know I was not a big fan of the Blood+ series but I at least found it enjoyable for half of it. I found Blood+ was to long for the content. Now Blood-C I liked one episode and by the end of it I was at the point I'd hope it'd never be licensed here . There was a few people that seemed to somehow like it ,but the vast majority of the people I've talked to seemed to generally loathe Blood-C. Don't even get me started on the last episode.
Blood-C The Last Dark BD/DVD Slated for February 27

The official Twitter account for the Clamp Festival event confirmed that the Blu-ray Disc and DVD for the Blood-C: The Last Dark film will go on sale on February 27.
Funimation also posted the dubbing staff and trailer:
• ADR Director - Jerry Jewell
• ADR Engineer - Alyssa Galindo
• Head Writer - John Burgmeier
• Lead Writer - Jamie Marchi
Funimation describes the story:
The creators of Blood: The Last Vampire and Blood+ team up with renowned powerhouse CLAMP to inject beauty into a chilling new addition to the Blood line. Horrifying beasts with a hunger for human flesh prey on the citizens of a quiet town. In moonlit twilight, Saya slays the monsters and returns home drenched in blood. As the attacks increase in frequency and intensity, her enemies relay cryptic messages about a broken contract. Limbs are torn from flesh and skulls are crushed and devoured while the huntress struggles with paralyzing visions and gaping holes in her memory. When the humans Saya promised to protect reveal the sickening truth about her role in the violence, she learns her mission isn't as clear cut as she thought-and her most sadistic foe of all is so close she can taste it.
Funimation streamed the television series as it aired in 2011 on the Nico Nico website. The company announced the acquisition of the broadcast, home entertainment, streaming, and mobile rights to both the Blood-C television anime series and the Blood-C: The Last Dark film at Anime Expo in June.
Funimation is releasing the series in a Blu-ray/DVD combo on January 8.
