Two.

#1: Will AN CS ever acknowledge my e-mails sent back in MAY? I expect the answer to that is, hell no.

#2: Will AN ever put up the entire Mahoromatic on VOD to fix the total balls-up they made of the current offering? After all, it started with ep 4 and then skipped to 7. Why should I bother, at this point if they won't?

Never got to see all of Towanoquon, because they didn't offer 5, so I didn't watch 4, or even try to get 6.
Had to get the DVDs of Infinite Stratos, A-Channel, Princess Resurrection, Himawari!!, Someday's Dreamers, Yozakura Quartet, Book of Bantorra and Motto To LoveRU to see the entire series without gaps. No money left for a subscription. I'm waiting for Amazon to send me the Towanoquon Blu-ray set I ordered.
I already have the entire Hidamari Sketch collection. I am waiting for the third pair of DVDs for Psychic Squad to come out.


1. I will check on those emails with Administration and see what happened to them.

2. The first three eps of Mahoromatic were on the July 5 update that was never delivered to DTV. And the same with eps 5 & 6 for the July 12 update.
This is the third showing that I know of for this series, (Nov 2008, Jan 2011 and July 2012).
I'm sure that it will be run again in the future, but I'm not sure of a date, I'll ask on my next report.

Himawari! (Season 1) is starting up August 23. It first played on PPV for FREE VOD users.
Himawari, Too!! (Season 2) played through completely Jan-Apr 2012 - except for the OVA, and I made several references to it.
Infinite Stratos (sub) played through completely in May 2011.
Princess Resurrection played in 2009 with no problems.
Yozakura Quartet played in June and July 2010 with no problems.

But I will admit that Towanoqon, A-Channel, Book of Bantorra, Someday's Dreamers and Motto To LoveRu had update problems on DTV.

Hidamari Sketch played for the first time in June-Aug 2010
Hidamari Sketch x 365 - Nov 2010 - Feb 2011
I looked through my reports from then and there were no reports from DirecTV users about either of these shows.

I'll get back to you when I have more info for you.

Most of that is meaningless, to me, as I have the discs and watched them already. I didn't have DirecTV VOD until August 2011, so anything that happened before is also meaningless, to me.
Mahoromatic CAN be fixed, but obviously WON'T be fixed. I'll probably do a download somewhere and if I like what I see, I'll buy the discs. I won't wait another year.

Not worth the effort. I wouldn't trust RCA, these days. I don't have Netflix, nor do I bother with Hulu or Vudu and I can get Youtube on my DVR directly.

If I ever got a box, it would be a Sony or a Roku.

Both earlier Hidamari Sketch series (TOS and X365) ran without issues on DirecTV in thier original runs, Slow. I watched both to completion.

IIRC, I found it puzzling at the time how some of the OVA episodes seemed to be picked up while most weren't, but the main series ran to completion, and that's the important thing, I suppose (I can look back and check exactly which OVA eps were uploaded, if anyone wants me to).


No need, I have all my reports and everything that was sent to me since I've been doing this job. I have it all right in front of me.

I don't know about the newer DVRs, but at least on my old HR-22, YT video quality sucks horribly (but then, I haven't actually tried in the past few weeks; maybe there's been a software update that's improved the situation...).

Also, does anyone have any idea what's up with posting in Chrome? It sends me to an unstyled and largely content-less page before dropping me off on the forum front page, and my message doesn't get posted; I'm having to post from Firefox instead.

*sigh* No... but could you go over to the AN Online Community Help & Tech Support thread and report it?

Please put your OS (Windows, Mac, etc.)
Browser (Chrome, etc.)
And brief description of problem.

It will notify the person that takes care of that stuff automatically.

As an example, I did not receive the entire series for it ended on Ep. 5 on my end. I had Comcast then later to become Xfinity. This goes to show that either Comcast did not upload the episodes or in my particular zip code the content was never received. This is an example of the differences between TV providers doing and not doing what you expect. Another example is that even within the same company, DirecTV, some people are receiving all content and some are not.

It may all sound like riddles, but my point is that this is a complex business involving VOD content from any source... not only TAN. At first I held Cartoon Network to blame for Death Note and Kekkaishi, but when I later realized the entirety of the issue... that blame seemed misplaced. The truth is there is not just one party that can be blamed for messes like these. Honestly there are too many variables to consider, and I find myself burned out even trying to point the finger of blame.

Sorry to say... there has been no change since my last report. TAN is still not present within the Wave Broadband VOD menus as of now. Has TAN died on my end? Yet again, the finger of blame grows limp, *sigh*.
