FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SENTAI FILMWORKS LICENSES
“QWASER OF STIGMATA”

HOUSTON, July 1, 2012 — Sentai Filmworks is proud to announce thier latest acquisition: Qwaser of Stigmata. Directed by Hiraku Kaneko (Aquarian Age, Godannar) and featuring character designs by Makoto Uno (Gravion, Love Hina) and music by Tatsuya Katou (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, MEDAKA BOX) this series consists of two seasons and one OVA for a total of 37 episodes.

When Mafuyu Oribe and her adopted sister Tomo rescue a strange wounded man, they have no idea what they’re getting involved with or what the consequences will be. Alexander Nikolaevith Hell is an Iron Qwaser, one of many opposing factions of super-warriors who can each draw upon the power of an element and wield it as an almost unstoppable array of weapons. And unfortunately for Mafuyu, Alexander’s faction is there to gather the mystical relics known collectively as the High Circuit, which puts her friends, family and school at ground zero in a battle for the fate of all mankind! But there’s an even more disturbing twist, as Qwasers require a special liquid diet to manifest their powers, one provided by the women who serve as a Qwaser’s partner. And THAT means that the nursing Mafuyu’s already given Alexander isn’t the only kind of nursing he needs! Get ready for one of the wildest, weirdest animes to EVER come out of Japan as the courage within a woman’s breast unleashes a whole new kind of mayhem in QWASER OF STIGMATA!

Qwaser of Stigmata will be available through digital outlets and on uncut, subtitled DVD later this year.

My god, this anime should almost be categorized as a Hentai.

I think that it is well short of that. Personally, my problem with the show is mainly about the fetish-pandering characters:none of them really appeal to me. I kinda wish the show had gone into hentai territory as that would have let them eliminate the panties, which is critical for me as the whole panty-fetish thing doesn't work for me, it's a turn off (and why it was almost impossible for me to get into this show). The show also had the "trope" where a woman's "bitchiness" was inversely proportional to her bust size. Can't say I'm too big on that, but it's par for the course with Anime so I'll have to deal with it.

Given a dub, though, I'd buy this. IMO infinite stratos was crap in Japanese, but Sentai's dub made it hilariously awesome. That happens often for me, most modern Japanese dubs don't "sound good" to me.

Yeah, this is quite a perverted show, but seems quite fun. I'm glad it got licensed!
However, I honestly think Sentai should've gone with a dub on this one... I believe it'd give the show the boost it needs to make some good numbers. I'm no expert on that though, it's just intuition.
This seems like one of those shows that'd benefit from a fun English cast... similar to what celestial_being described for Infinite Stratos.

I am quite pleased. I've already set aside some money to preorder this one.
Too bad there isn't a dub though...
