Large scale unofficial project teases the results of years of work

After years of work, the decidedly unofficial Spanish language Robotech: Valkyrie Project fan film has a new trailer to tease the results of their effort.

Fan Film based on the Robotech Macross saga whose rights are property of Harmony Gold. This production has nothing to do with Harmony Gold. Non-profit project. Done by fans for fans. Without any commercial support. (Work in progress)

The Zentraedi Do Not Approve of Urban Climbing

While the Zentradei are an alien race of warriors under the command of the evil Robotech masters, but as seen in this trailer for the fan-made "Robotech: Valkyrie Project," I can't help agree with them in their distate of people enjoy "buildering," better known as urban climbing" I mean, if you're going to try and climb up a highway in the middle of the day, then you have to be prepared for a Zentraedi Battlepod to land on that highway and crush you to death. those are simply the risks. Recently we learned that they were doing a web series on ROBOTECH, we saw the trailer (climbed it to SeeyaBrotha!) and really were very cornered. That's how we came up contact with the guys from CREAVISION, more precisely with Cesar who tells us a little more about ROBOTECH: VALKYRIE PROJECT. This told us:

Tell the kids today in short words what Robotech? And what it means for you Robotech?

Robotech, was an animated series, whose content was more beyond shots, explosions, and spacecraft. There was a dramatic content for the age and the time that is issued, struck a lot. Both my as thousands of children of that time. Even in more age (up to 15 years or more). Scenes such as the kiss of rick with smooth front the gaze of the zentraedis, the death of Roy, are some of those moments that we remember much. Not to mention the famous veritech VF. They had to acquire some kind of right to be able to get into this world of Robotech?

No, because it is a free non-profit material, which is called Fan film or fan art. Where was filmed?

Mainly in the city of Bahía Blanca in Buenos Aires province, recorded there in an important avenue, called Alem Avenue. The shooting 90%, demand for almost 2 years. And the post began almost at the same time we began recording (January 2011).

It is difficult to calculate, we believe in about 6 months. Anyway we will keep you informed and with a good amount of progress.

They had some kind of help from the INCAA? Or was it all bancado by uds?

No, we did not have any kind of financial support. All the steps were keys for free. And expenses that we were by ourselves.

Interviu FW: Creative Argentines of the film Robotech: Valkyrie Project

In mid-2012, we discuss the news related to the project to make a film about the saga of Robotech, one of the most iconic animated series of all time, ironically out of United States rather than the Asian Mecca of Mecha action series.

Do as he could a so popular series not having left Japan? This happened because its creator, the American writer Carl Macek inspired in the animated series Macross to compose the saga, which added complements of three different Japanese series, Macross, Southern Cross, and Mospeada to comply with the requirement of the television producers requiring a minimum of 65 chapters to emit a series for TV.

Macek left us three years ago, and his legacy was a super series of transformable robots which marked a generation of children and young people of the world. Among these young people were a few Argentines who decided his professional future in animation by computer and are encouraged, despite the arduous task and closed that the licensing of the Robotech franchise, just create a fan film fully developed in Argentine locations and with a great and detailed editing process.

We chatted with César, one of the leaders of the Creavisión team, who dealt with this project that is soon to be released through YouTube and has received amazing reviews and high adhesion, especially in Japan.


-FW: I'd like to tell us how the project was born, what kind of planning made at the time of starting (or was taken slowly and spontaneously) and are your expectations for the day of its premiere.

-Caesar: The project was giving little by little. It started out as something more guy, and it grew over time. We hope to meet the high expectations of the public fan of the saga. For now we are going well and the answers into the trailers have been great, hopefully continue so!



-FW: Already confirmed the release format through YouTube. They have also estimated date?

-Caesar: There is no release date, they will be continued chapters and we estimate that the first will be ready to be released between March and April.



-FW: Is it true that they contacted some producers from the United States and dismissed the project?

-Caesar: No, we do not seek contact to other producers for the project.



-FW: do some club of fans or followers of Robotech contacted them? Both in support and in claim of some kind of "detail" of those that tend to be so attentive ultra fans...

-Caesar: Yes, we were contacted but always to add. Thanks to them we correct some mistakes we had made in the history, and discover a huge world of details that I had no idea that existed. People very piola gave us and that they have given us a very big hand.



-FW: type of platforms used for the creation of models and animations and have experience that make up the team in this type of production?

-Caesar: All with PC, software Lightwave and 3D Max for modeling and animation work. As time passes we were adding people with much experience in such things, that gave the work a very professional framework and a high level. It is a pride for me to work with them. In addition to learning something new every day.



-FW: would you decide to use as a starting point of the history, the city of Bahía Blanca? It is part of the script or is part of the same thing that was filmed in Buenos Aires?

-Caesar: In our fiction we not set exact geographical points, it is a coastal city, but does not specify what. Although he knows the city will know that it was recorded there, the script shows that in this city is one of the many bases where working on the construction of the prototype Varitech. In Buenos Aires, as in other capitals of the world, they spread the news of a possible meteorite that would have impacted on an island in the Pacific Ocean.



-FW: Is a part of the global event that happens in Buenos Aires or they moved the main action to our country?

-Caesar: Fiction focuses on a little detailed in the original Macross/Robotech universe context. She is the precise construction details of the Varitech and disadvantages that have occurred in its construction. The city is witness to the enormous destructive power that would come in the next few years.



-FW: what models of animation in film and series that most influenced them inspired or have as a favorite?

-Caesar: Are many, but studies such as Light & Magic are really motivating to see VFX. The quality of detail used in the models, textures and animations we motivate to continue working and learning about this beautiful art.



-FW: if they had the possibility of being part of the script and production of another movie based on a series of animation, what would they choose?

-Caesar: I can not imagine another series of animation today that non-Robotech, but Thundercats and Mazinger Z series that also marked an entire generation. But not compared to the Robotech universe, I don't think that there is another equally.



-FW: what is the public that more enthused globally with the trailers that published so far? If you have some kind of explosion of a public in particular, do you think that they could reach brand new film in the cinema?

We are surprised to see how Japan outperformed all other countries in number of reproductions. In just two days, we had more than 250,000. We know that the Latin American public is also huge and will give us his answer. In cinema by the time a release is not possible since we do not have permissions to do so. At the moment it will only emit Internet.
