TOPIC: Having problems viewing

Having problems viewing 3 years, 9 months ago #8036

I have been trying to watch online here for the last hour, and nothing seems to be working. I am logged in, and not even the free episodes are loading more than 26 seconds of content before freezing. I am not sure if it something that I am doing wrong, but any help from you guys would be great.

Thanks ^_^

Sorry to hear that guys! Don't worry, someone will be along shortly to help you out. For reference, any kind of info, like what kind of browser you're using, where you're at, what kind of computer you're using would be helpful in the process.

Aweosme. Well I use a Mac, and I have run AN off Safari and Firefox. The problems are occurring less now, and I can watch whole episodes, but there is a lot of freezing, and dialogue running, but picture frozen.

Hope that helps ^_^

Which shows and episodes are you seeing problems with? Also, what kind of connection to the internet? Cable mode, DSL? How fast? The low-end DSL products (e.g., 1.5mbps) really aren't fast enough for streaming our video, especially if it's HD video.

Also, your computer has to be fairly new. My laptop with a Pentium-M running 1.6 Mhz can barely show SD video on the player page. Fullscreen is right out.

Thanks for any feedback you can provide!

Well we use cable modem. Unfortunately I could not say how fast it is, its probably standard connection though. I was having problems with Full Metal Panic Fumuffo, Mahoromatic, and Angelic Layer. My Macbook is about 6 weeks old, and runs on latest software. Plus I have had no problems with streaming sites such as 4 On Demand.

It is working better now though, still freezes in parts, but it gets through whole episodes now.

Hope that helps ^_^

Sure does. It proves I have some work to do.

Seriously, though. We're working on a solution that will improve responsiveness for our UK members. It's likely to be a couple of days, though, before it will be in place. I'll update this thread as soon as it is.

Thanks for using TAN!

Actually, can I ask, I'm about to buy a years worth of 'premium content'. If my own viewing problems here in the UK persist am I entitled to a partial or complete refund?

From my experience so far, I'd say that unless you've got a fast internet connection the first thing you need to do is click HD to disable it(assuming it's not already grey). You can try disabling hardware acceleraction in the flash settings (right click on the video then chose settings), it might help. The other thing is to close any windows you're not using, the player does seem to need lots of power.

I've been able to watch videos on a 4 year old Dell PC (2.8GHz P4 2GB RAM)running Windows XP, but my work PC failed miserable but that's steam powered.

Well, having actually made an attempt at purchasing an annual subscription to the viewing service I have received the same error message as many others:

Error: 3-1-39-P---The supplied currency code is either invalid, not supported, not allowed for this merchant or doesn't have an exchange rate.
Error: Failure in Processing the Payment (ps_authorize)

Since it's almost midnight here am I going to have to pay full price for this service or will you be extending the offer in light of the problems you've experienced in setting this up?

The PayPal option *should* be working now. Stupid configuration error. I had to disable the credit card option but PayPal has a CC option so you should be covered. Just note, when you click "Check Out" it will take you straight to the "I Agree" page since there's no choice. It's PayPal or nothing.

The 1/2 price is good until midnight CDT but we're extending it until 8:00 am CDT on the 11th to give our UK buddies a fair shot at it.

Thanks for sticking with it.
