I sort of get it. Maybe certain titles don't get dubs because they don't think it will sell as well. But if sales go up in the future, maybe it could get a dub.

In the past, I was just feeling concerned because I remember back in 2005-2006 that just about all anime titles were dubbed, and that now, those days are over, which makes me upset because I only speak and understand english, and listening to the other languages sound awkward to me. I just grew up with dubs.

Also, no dub means they can't be aired on TV, like Adult Swim.

Yes, that's correct.

We all wish everything could be dubbed, but with all the equipment, man power and Voice Actors, it's very expensive.

Fans MUST watch streaming episodes (NOT fansubs), buy anime and support the industry in every way possible.

I only watch dubs with the sound on, because If its subs, I mute the sound.
Do you hate the sound of the Japanese language that much?

A lot of character interaction is expressed in the way the dialog is delivered. Without the original Japanese inflections and word emphasis, you're missing part of the story.

It is perfectly reasonable for the owner of a company to make more than $100,000 per year. Are you saying that anyone in the business who makes more than $99,999 per year is morally obligated to give the excess away?

I want to see all anime dubbed and any singing done by the characters be in english in the dubbed version.
Doing that could very will drive the anime distributors to bankruptcy. Is that really what you want to happen?

I want Sentai filmworks to do whatever Funimation does as far as Anime Aquisitions and Dubs. Otherwise I'll just keep complaining about the lack of dubs out there, and singing going from dubs to subs, to dubs.
You are certainly entitled to have your own opinion.
But, due to financial realities, your wish cannot be granted.

Continuing to annoy people who don't share your opinion is not cool.

I was about to complain that the forum glitched and posted my message twice, as #123248 and #123249, but the duplicate has disappeared, which is good.

First of all, if an anime is not licensed in the United States by any company, then fansubs may be the only way to see it in the united states. Also I noticed often for licensed anime with official steams, either you need to pay a subscription to see them, or the steaming episodes are ridden with the same amount of commercial interruptions you would see on tv (3 commercial interruptions during episodes, when there should be just 1 commercial interruption located at the eye catcher spot, as well as an ad before the episode). Its annoying when There are frequent commercial interruptions every 8 minutes. Other countries don't have as many commercial interruptions.

Maybe I should watch the official ones, and you should encourage them as well. More people might just steam individual episodes if they only watch them ocationally. If the anime is not licensed in the US, then fansubs would be the only way you can watch them.

I was wondering why for example, anime like Koihime Mousou and To Love RU did not get dubs? Did not a lot of people watch official steams or bought dvds for those anime? If there was a way to ket people to view official steams and/or buy the DVDs, then perhapes they can get a dub.

'Koihime + Muso' is rated TVMA and I believe that 'To LoveRu' is rated older (although it is Rated TV14), so that's why you need a subscription to watch them.

If you do get a subscription to our Online Player, there are no commercial interruptions.

I'm not privy to the information about why certain anime get dubs and why others do, but I imagine it's because the sales weren't high enough.

We have several new anime right now on the Online Player playing for FREE for guests. There's a listing for the free anime in this thread.

I don't know what you mean by not privy enough? I know In the past, I tried to ask these questions by e-mail to Mike Balif of Sentai Filmworks, and he refused to tell me the reasons.

Why do they have to keep it under wraps why certain anime get dubs, and why some do. And only when you hear that it will be released on "Subtitled DVD" that you know its not being dubbed. I just wanted an honest answer. As for commercial interruptions, can't they not have a lot of them at the same frequency as on TV? and only have an ad before the show, and maybe a couple of ads at the Eye-catcher point (About halfway through the episode)?
