It's certainly the best looking and most ornate set I own, and certainly one I'd put as one of the top 2 if not 1 in terms of packaging released in recent years.

Sadly that MO was a big flop.

Epic REVIVAL!!!! Okay so u know I just got the singles off of TRSI for a really really really good price. And even before I watch it, I have to say - the singles look GOOD. The artbox is the nicest one I have now - it really looks fantastic. Each DVD has a nice slipcover too. A lot of effort went into these!

Now to go watch the actual show

So I take it you got one of the rare vol.5 I think it was with a slipcover. Not sure why ,but a lot of them did not have it.

Most of the Singles were sent to retailers with the slip cover inside the plastic wrap, but for some reason single #5 was not. So when they were returned from Best Buy, FYE, etc, a lot of them singles had lost their slip covers as a result. It's also very likely they were damaged during the shipment back, and ADV later removed them.

I have to agree with everyone on the artbox. It's definitely one of the best ever, and it's one of the centerpieces of my collection! Too bad it didn't pay off though....

Yep. As a little side note, I noticed that the Vol.5 artwork on my copy is not the same as the artwork on the picture shown on TRSI. Were there multiple releases? Maybe one with the slipcover, one without?

There were indeed two different releases.
The one with the slipcover had the original cover and the one without the slipcover had a cover pic from the slipcover.

I, myself, received the one without the slipcover from RSI when I bought the set, so I hunted down another copy at a B&M and double dipped at almost full MSRP on another Vol. 5, just so I could have the slipcover because I like consistancy.

On the left, is the one without a slipcover...
In the middle, is the one with the slipcover (and the slipcover next to it on the right).

Woot I must be one lucky dog then! BTW the copies RSI sent me had Best Buy price tags on them, and the slipcover was inside the plastic wrap with the DVD case. I say this because I think u mean that the slipcover was there, but outside the plastic wrap, right cody?

Also coffee, you just HAD to get your ADV orb in there, didn't you?

It wasn't intentional, I assure you!
My Chevalier set was buried under quite a few other series, so I had to pull all kinds of sets and stuff onto my bed to get at the Chevalier set and I didn't bother moving anything off my bed until after I took the pic.

I picked it up from RSI and got all slipcover copies too. Was a little dissapointed in how it all wrapped up; in the end he was just

but I guess that part is actually fairly true to history.

Before we get started -

Disclaimer: I will probably make some pretty inane comments.
I am in the middle of remodeling. So, by the end of the day, when I watch the episodes, my brain isn't functioning at all.

The guys are on lunch break and the hammering has stopped ... temporarily.

Episodes 1 - 4

Really beautiful to look at, nice soundtrack as well.

Re:Le Chevalier D'Eon 1 year, 7 months ago #52977

I haven't been able to watch the second DVD yet, as I had to update my website with the excellent news of today. But it was nice to rewatch the first few episodes yesterday. I really love Brittney Karbowski in this one. She suits her character perfectly. David Matragna does a pretty good job too.

I will have to watch the historical commentary on this volume as well, as it features Amy Forsythe. She provided translation for this series, among many other anime and manga series ADV put out. Sadly, she passed away a few months ago.

Anybody else checking out the special features?
