Does it ever get as good as the first half of Naruto?

I'm on 149 and think it gets better then the first half. I just can't say why without going into major spoilers. The best I can say it involves other members of the Akatsuki.

Around which episode did it get really good for you and does it ever have fights as cool as the Hokage arc in the first Naruto?

The fight in arc that starts at 72-88 has some good fights in it. The problem the blood edits may make a part of them confusing but think they are better then the Hokage fights. The arc between 33-53 also has some good fights. I think the best fight though is between 135-138. The really good stuff in the manga has yet to be animated.

The good news ep. 119-120 has the back history of Kakashi and the mystery of his Sharingan eye.

As for Naruto don't worry he will get several times to shine in future episodes.

As strong as the First Invasion of the village was, the next invasion eclipses it. There are so many great fights IMO.
