So who had Cartoon Network passing up their most popular anime ever and letting their longest running rival have it. Not me.

Not surprising given FMA Brotherhood's disappointing premiere. Would not be surprised if AS only picks up good deals for them from now on.

From what I've seen, FMA Brotherhood shouldn't have been too disappointing for AS, at least, they should have realized that it would be nothing like the original. If they did a little research, they would know that people didn't want this(I did, and I watch every week to support anime on tv). I think FMA B will pick up some new viewers. If you read some posts on ANN, some people still don't realize it's on AS.

The numbers of FMA B are disappointing for a big premiere for a show being given the prime midnight spot and one where they actually promoted.

Its debut was decent but nowhere the size of other big premiere shows that got midnight slotting - the numbers keep dropping consistently per week by several tens of thousands. On the last rating tally, it dropped out of the top 3 with thousands of viewer loss, being beaten out by reruns that air on a much later time slot. It's not doing much better than Moribito which had a horrible time slot and was a niche property.

Whether or not the ratings will go up when the newer material comes remains to be seen. But the trend is so far, the ratings keep slipping for the show.

Right now PP's prediction of it doing poorly seems to be coming true.

You're enjoying yourself too much for being right on FMA. Careful now, they might bring back Bleach instead for you.

Well, this is an interesting development. I guess I just assumed that DB: Kai would end up on CN. In my head, it was a given. I'm surprised, but it's two fold: suprised and actually saddened that CN didn't pick this up and surprised and slightly intrigued to see how Nicktoons will handle the series. Of course, we all knew that CN has been distancing itself from anime for a while, but I figured that this series (and its various incarnations) was one of their anime trifecta: Inuyasha, FMA, and DBZ.

Well, new times call for new opportunities. I'm glad to see that the show is at least making it to broadcast TV. I'll watch (or DVR) just to show some sort of support for anime on TV.

A lot of people expected FMAB to do badly. Honestly, a lot of the people who would watch this, have already seen the first show, and the first several episodes are basically a retelling of the first season. It was going to be an uphill battle regardless. Plus, the show just isn't as good as the first, and the dub is even considerably worse than the first. But on the bright side, it is still in the top 5, but if ratings keep falling, it won't remain there for long.

I think the streaming of this online may have actually hurt the eventual TV airing. I know a lot of people that streamed the show, but have no interest in the TV airing, despite the dub.

Anyway, I'm not surprised to see NickToons pick up DBK. They've been looking into anime for a while, and even commissioned a few original projects, though I don't think any of those ever premiered. Also, they've been heavily aiming for the young male audience, and Dragon Ball is a perfect fit.
