It's all about the porn. I say stick it in black plastic with a barcode.

Sometimes I would like to find who determines our media ordering and smack them around. We nevere get the right amounts of titles we need, or the right type of format. For instance, my store only received 8 copies of Boondock Saints 2 on bluray. They were gone by 11:30, and we don't even have any replenishment on order. **shakes head*i

There has been a little bit of an update on this. The former editor of Anime Insider is reporting that Media Blasters has laid off it's entire book division. So it looks like we shouldn't be expecting anymore manga from them, beyond what is already completed, at least for a while anyway.

If true, I say it's a good thing. Not that they got laid off, but that now they can put all there time and effort into their main business - DVDs, whether it's their Anime Works, Tokyo Shock, or Shriek Show lines. That's what's most important right now.

Definitely! John Sirabella said anime accounts for about half their sales, even excluding their hentai line. So DVD's are definitely their most important business. Also, despite the difficulties in DVD retail, books are just as bad, if not worse.
