That may be the best way to put it that I've ever heard! LOL! It should be your status message.

That's probably a bit true. Although, its also true that its much harder to finance a dub with box sets.

There in lay a even bigger issue. Time for people to stop sucking on the nipple that is dubs and come to the darkside that is the dreaded sub only.

Nah I'm ganna suck that nipple until it's good and dry. Then bite the very nipple that gives me milk.

I kid I kid. But really I want my dubs . Otherise my enjoyment is so much less. Show has to blow me away to stay interested in it as it is with a dub, without one it's GATA be amazing. I do hope all is not that bad at Media Blasters. Hey I've been supporting them as of late. Bought quite a lot of their titles from their B&M Store. I can only do so much without a job .

Cody: Yeah I know you didn't mean people here, but I like to bust chops.

The problem with dubs is people like it, but won't buy and support it immediately. Companies do not have the luxury of waiting months for people to support shows anymore, as noted by Funimation and other industry reps.

If they don't sell within a limited time window, decisions are made.

In the case of MB, the singles avenue is showing its tears. Again people like dubs, but how many can afford to buy singles or a lot of dubbed shows? The model isn't working, retailers and R1 companies are now having to adjust to that.

Sigh...if all the pirates were to buy a title once in awhile, we may not have this problem.

If they did that, then they wouldn't be pirates, now would they?

I find myself very slowly picking up Japanese by watching subtitled shows. I don't expect to like, become fluent in it from watching anime, but it's getting so I can pick up when the translation is adjusted a bit from what's actually said.

I think the market is going to shift to the 2-disc half series sets, dubbed or not. People expect more for their money. The ones who can provide it are going to stick around.

Best Buy here seems to be largely Funi, Sentai stuff appears and seems to sell out rapidly, and beyond that I haven't looked close enough to see what's what.

I kind of doubt the stuff sells out, although Cody would know better then I. From what I can tell they ship most of the stuff back after awhile, if it's not known to sell. But they do leave things there if they have been selling well (i.e. NGE, Elfen Lied have stayed on the shelves for awhile, etc).

Well, I can live with sub only... I had to for years. Animego and me were buddies. But it is easier to show my gal dubs. So now I have added incentive to hope dubs do not die out.

What sells well and what doesn't at B&M stores is muc more dependent on price, then it is online. A lot of the Sentai stuff that we've carried have sold quite well, like Appleseed, Clannad, Skull Man, and Ghost Hound (at least in terms of anime sales). There really isn't any rhyme or reason to it though, and it can be largely dependent on the market.

One of the biggest problems is that stores are much less likely to restock titles, even ones that have good sell through. Also, with companies like Sentai, MB, and Bandai having much lower print runs, it can take much longer to get replenishment in for titles that are reordered. But I really don't understand some of the logic behind what we carry and what we don't. For instance, Ghost Hound sold pretty decently, but let's make the second part online only. Kenichi hardly sold at all at most stores, so let's have everybody carry season 2. It really doesn't make any sense.

That line right there. Seems anime consumers are as predictable as shifting sand. You never know where it is going next.

I for one would not want to be the orderer of titles for a chain.
