Technically that was because of the channel not being allowed to continue showing TAN.

Wrong. TAN UK ran out of money and stopped the slot.

Really? Huh I'm certain someone said that that channels funding ment it could only show a certain type of show, which happen to all be complete crap. It was lottery funded or something. Who said that?

Nope its just on this website, theres an online video player at the top of the screen somewhere. No Emma & Stu though, we should petition their return, but since there are so few uk guys here we should just turn violent and over turn tables/smash vases until they are brought back. I'll lead the charge by tickling Slowhand.

Raise about £5 million, then buy yourself a satellite channel and purchase mixture of new and old anime licenses.

Then lose the will to live as everyone complains about how they hate subs/dubs or how they've already seen this or how the subs aren't as good as fansubs etc etc Finally give up on the UK market as a waste of time and effort.

Kodama sounds like a plan!

To the question, well... or you can buy Anime DVDs frequently and tell your friends, people you know interested in anime, etc to do the same. One of the reasons Anime retracted over there so much was along with the other factors with the industry (contraction), not enough people buying DVD etc, the UK market simply is very small. It's hard to grow a market with such limitations and so much cost when there isn't a whole lot of revenue to justify it.

ADV and Anime Network tried, not only with trying to get a block there, but releasing a lot of DVDs there, spending a lot of money on the UK division, and it just didn't pay off, sadly.

It's now March 2011. I've been a UK subscriber for several months. Now I find I can't get the UK "Watch Anime Now" interface anymore; entering ...co.uk takes me to the ...com.
There weren't many shows available to the UK anyway, and now I can't even see which those are, without selecting everything in turn. Really not impressed!

That answer was a little generic. In fact, it could even have been a macro. (Is that too old skool (school?)?)
