10/10/10 - RIP Eugene.

You were a great animal, and in what little time we spent together, I'll never forget it. You were loving, playful and gorgeous.

You were dealt a bad hand in life, so may you rest peacefully in death.

This.... is Eugene (I named him myself!). He's pretty awesome.

He's been wandering around the streets where I work for a long time. After thinking about it, I've decided to try to give him a home.

He's well mannered, and is leash/house trained. Great with other dogs. Vet guesses him to be around 2-3 years old. He's absolutely a joy to have around.

$300+ in medicine/vaccinations (Heartguard, Frontline, etc) has already been paid by me for you to take with him, and I DO NOT expect to be paid back for them. Bathed him myself! He loves squeaky toys and tasty bacon treats. He's an amazing dog, and if I didn't have a puppy myself, I'd be inclined to keep him (They even get along great, even for being two males.)

We're in the Houston area. So if you're interested, or know someone who is, please please please let me know! Give this guy a great home. Before You take him, I'd like you meet with you first so I know you're not a creeper.

If this post is not placed in the right area, or not allowed, guys lemme know ASAP and I'll delete it.

He's really an adorable pup, and deserves a great family. I just want him to get what he so respectfully deserves.

****Update**** (9/9/2010)

I've found out that Eugene has heartworms. If left untreated, it will lead to his early death. unfortunately, the procedure the vet quoted to me is $1000 USD.

I don't think he deserves to die so early because of someone else's neglect. And I don't think he should die just because I'm too poor to help him.

I've set up a donation paypal account. if there's anything anyone can give, $5, $10, or even just $1, it would help. I've been contacting numerous adoption agencies (pitbull rescues, etc) and have yet to have any responses.

If the time comes to give him to a no-kill shelter, any and all donations made will go to the agency/facility/shelter that takes him in if it is under the $1000 goal.
of course, if $1000 (or close to $1000) is reached, I will put him through the treatment ASAP.

Link: you can click on this sentence if you'd like to donate to Eugene's de-heartworming procedure.

Even if you can't or are unable to donate, thank you for your support.

you're all an amazing bunch. You all welcomed me without knowing me, and even if I can't gather the full amount (because we ALL know anime is addicting pricey!) I'll keep you all updated on Eugene's progress with pictures. (and I'll even keep everyone updated on how much has been donated to his cause)

****Update**** (9/14/2010)

GREAT NEWS! I called a bunch of vet clinics. Most wouldn't give me a price without seeing him (which is like a $40-$60 "examination fee". F that!), but a friend happened to ask her vet, and they said they would do it for $764!! how GREAT is that?! I'm feeling really hopeful and energetic right now, as that means we're halfway to his goal.

-Eugene's Total-
($760 Goal)

$459 USD

(P.S. - shut up, i know my room is messy! YOU CAN'T MAKE ME CLEAN IT!!)

Awwww... a dog! Though I wouldn't have named him Eugene... I would have name him "Dog"!

Unfortunately, New York is a little too far from the Houston area, I can't have a dog, and my status as a "creeper" is still undetermined.
Good luck finding a home for him though.

P.S. - Your room is messy... make sure it stays that way

Well if you'd like to meet him, haissan, you're more than welcome. Even if you don't end up taking him home with you!

He's super chill, and loves scratches.

I would totally take Eugene in, though I'm not in the Houston area, and I'm sure that pets aren't allowed on campus, tykes... ._.''

However, I do know of a few friends in the area, I shall inform them, tykes!

Updated my original post with bad news.

It may be bad news, but it's fixable at least.

Everything I post is my own opinion.

The vet said with the rate/how many he has, he'll live for possibly a year. So before then

However, the treatment takes about 3 months.
(They have to "ready" him for the poison to kill the heartworms.. so the poison does not kill him)

I have him on heartgaurd, which stops more adult heartworms from forming, but it doesn't get rid of the ones he has

Everything I post is my own opinion.
