I just found this story while reading the courts decision to allow Fred Phelps and the Westboro Baptist Church to protest military funerals. As many of you know, Freddy boy blames Americas views on homosexuals as the reason soldiers are dying in the wars in the Iraq and Afghanistan. Here is the story I found.

My favorite pic is the Star Trek fan holding a "God Hates Jedi" sign.

Tell me if I'm reading this correctly... Fred Phelps attends comic-con so people who are against the court allowing this guy to protest at soldiers funerals show up dressed up in cos-play protesting random crap and him?

He showed up protesting the conventions worship of false idols. I imagine it was just an attempt to gain some exposure. He's a douche bag that is in it for the shock value.

Hypno-Toad is no false idol. All Glory To The Hypno-Toad. He really had nothing better to do then protest comic-con? That's sad.

I laughed my ass when I read this. Apparently a group of Con-goers got into shouting contest with them and drowned them out. A big group starting screaming "We want gay sex!" just to annoy Phelps and company.

I'm a big supporter of freedom of speech and their church has every right to do this, but they are still d*cks! And despite whatever God they claim to believe in, I firmly believe there is a special place in hell reserved for idiots like this.

Some gay groups have found a good way to get rid of these losers BTW. They turn their protests into fund raisers. They take donations based on the amount of time they protest. Say for every hour they are there, someone agrees to donate a $100. Almost every time it has caused the church to cancel their plans.

What disgusts me most is that these jerks actually have the nerve to call themselves Christians. No one who is a member of the same faith I am would protest at the funeral of a fallen soldier and cause more pain and suffering for their families.

:pinch: Warning: Spoiler!

One more thing:

GOD BLESS STAR TREK AND COMIC BOOK FANS! LOL

I especially love the fact that it's a Trekkie that's holding the "God hates Jedi" sign. Franchise rivalry!

Most everyone knows that pets go to the Rainbow Bridge to await their owners so that they can cross together into Heaven.

Awww! That's sweet!
I had a particularly traumatic experience as a child one Sunday after church when we ran into our parish's priest at the supermarket coffee shop. My mom left us with him to go do her shopping and we start asking him all the typical kid questions about God, heaven, purgatory, and hell... He told us that my dog Sparky didn't have a soul and wouldn't go to heaven. That horrified me as a kid so badly, I don't think I ever spoke to him one-on-one again. Then I kinda figured, if there are no dogs in heaven, it's really not my scene...

Do you remember the old Twilight Zone where the old hillbilly and his dog die and they meet this guy walking down the road who tells him he's there to show him to heaven but the dog can't go. So the old hillbilly tells him he doesn't want to go without his dog. Then they run into another guy who says he's from heaven and the other guy was Satan trying to get him to go to hell and they can't let dogs pass because they can tell. He tells them that of course dogs are allowed in heaven otherwise it wouldn't be heaven. Old Twilight Zone episodes can give us so much wisdom.
