Well that would help me to view him in a better light, though that does come as a bit of a shock after reading some of his material on the internet.

If you can make it past the art, there's Higurashi (aka: When They Cry). I wouldn't call it scifi, but there's graphic violence aplenty (and actual horror elements) to maybe balance that out.
