Part One: Twenty year old Mikiko Oguro (known as Kuromi to her co-workers) has just entered the dream job of a lifetime -- animation! However, upon her arrival to the famed Studio Petit, Kuromi is in for a surprise: her predecessor just quit, leaving her with the project, and the seemingly unattainable deadline! Now, with only a week left until the key animation is due, Kuromi must wrangle up the group of slackers who must finish Time's Journey 2 before it's too late! Failure is not an option with Kuromi on the job!

Part Two: It has been three months since the completion of Time's Journey 2, and Kuromi and her staff face new challenges. The small facility finds itself juggling three different shows at a time and they seem to be falling behind schedule. The situation takes a turn for the worse with the arrival of Rei Takashimadaira, a self-proclaimed professional. Unlike Kuromi and company, he is obsessed with meeting deadlines rather than doing a quality job. What ensues is a hilarious clash of wills as our heroes struggle with his pushy, snobbish ways. Can the crew pull it together under the stress of their newfound leader's supervision, or are the new series simply destined to fail?
