Gingitsune - Messenger Fox of the Gods

In Japan, it is said that if you pray to a deity with sincerity, you will surely feel the divine presence. However, as the successor of the Saeki Inari Shrine, Makoto Saeki can do more than that, since she's been seeing and speaking with spirits, kami and other messengers of the Gods since her mother's funeral. Which can be difficult, especially when her classmates can't know about Gintarou, the fox-like Herald who's protects the Saeki shrine.

Episode 1: The 15th Successor and Gintaro

Saeki Makoto discovers that she is the 15th in line to receive a special gift, to be able to see the fox spirit Gintaro. Makoto seeks the help of the messenger of God and she learns to communicate Yumi's fortune.


Episode 2: Learning to Compromise

Makoto goes to school with a member of an elite family, Funabashi Hiwako, and their divide is a large one. After an intense encounter the dynamic changes and the next day at school the drama unfolds further.


Episode 3: The Place Where the Gods Are

Makoto finds a turtle herald near the Saeki Shrine and enlists the help of Gintaro to find his home. The next day they travel to the Shoubai Grand Shrine to meet two other heralds.

Makoto is shocked after her father tells her that they will be welcoming a new family member, which turns out to be a boy from another shrine. While napping, Gintaro notices a boy in a high school uniform looking at him.

Episode 6: How Do I Look?

After his first kendo practice the girls are all vying for Satoru’s attentions. Everyone is talking about him, and there's a clamor when they discover that he's living with Makoto. But at home, his stiff demeanor makes it very awkward.


Episode 7: Shrine and Temple

Makoto, Gintaro, and Satoru are walking with Haru through town when they happen to pass by a large temple. Makoto overhears a familiar voice and it turns that the temple is the home of Yumi's boyfriend Shohei.


Episode 8: Humans Are Strange

Hiwako learns that her father is returning from a trip overseas and begins searching for his birthday present. She asks Yumi and Makoto for advice, and they end up going to a new shopping mall in the area to buy a present.


Episode 9: I'm Sorry

While everyone else is out, Aki and Sachina visit the Saeki shrine. They are joined by Yuuya and two other boys. While playing, they accidentally break one of the shrine dippers! An enraged Haru chases the children but she quickly gets lost.


Episode 10: It Really Doesn't Matter

Satoru continues to practice hard as a member of the kendo club, but he hasn't managed to make any friends within the club. One day, he gets in a fight with another member, Kosugi, and ends up in a match against the team captain!


Episode 11: Makoto's Future

As Makoto continues to worry about what she should do in the futureshe turns to Gintaro for advice. And on the day before the summer cleansing, Tatsuo's friend Takami Yoshitomo and many others gather inside Saeki Shrine to prepare.


Episode 12: Summer Cleansing

It's time for the Summer Cleansing and the girls get up early to put on their shrine maiden outfits. Tatsuo drops by to mention that a foreign-looking boy has arrived. When they step outside, they find the student council president Kirishima.
