When a witch turns fifteen, it is her duty to move out and begin work. For Makoto Kowata, that means moving in with relatives to start her training as a witch. Set against the beauty of rural Aomori, Makoto and her familiar arrive to a scene that’s more captivating than they could have imagined. With her second cousins, Kei and Chinatsu, to help her, this somewhat flighty junior witch will encounter all sorts of new experiences as she learns more about magic and herself.
When Makoto arrives in the picturesque town of Aomori, her relatives, and those around her, aren’t prepared for what they get.
Spring arrives in Aomori, and the one who brings it decides to visit the new witch in town, much to her younger cousin’s concern.
Makoto asks her uncle if she can begin a garden to supplement her studies, and another unexpected visitor shows up at the house.
At Aomori’s Cherry Blossom Festival, Makoto, Chinatsu and Kei come across a rather odd fortune teller with a unique problem. Can Makoto help?
Chinatsu glimpses Chito leaving the house and follows him. Later in the day, Makoto goes on her own walk with Chito and makes a discovery!
Chinatsu begs Akane to take her on as an apprentice witch. Before long, Chinatsu is gathering supplies and helping out with her first spell which has... mixed results.
After picking herbs in the mountains, Makoto, Kei and Chinatsu visit a nearby café suggested by Akane. However, the café is a bit…different.
Makoto, Chinatsu, and Kei are enjoying the peaceful setting of Cafe Conclusio, and are awed when various "regulars" show up.
Inukai visits the house to make up for her behavior at the Cherry Blossom Festival, and Makoto shows Nao around the farm that Chinatsu and Kei are helping her with.
Cooking class pits Nao's horrible cooking skills against a hamburg steak recipe. Later, Makoto, Kei, and Chinatsu visit the orchard to tend to the apple trees.
Akane, Makoto, and Chinatsu take flight as a rare, ancient whale flies by. They come across Anzu studying the ruin atop the whale and invite her over for hotcakes.
Makoto realizes she’s outgrown her witches robe! If she can make it to the fabric store without getting completely lost, she might be able to make a new one.
