In the 24th Century, Intergalactic Space Travel has become a reality. One of the first outposts in the far reaches of space is WATCHER’S NEST which has recently come under attack by a mysterious force. A group of young female cadets assigned to the portal are unexpectedly thrown into a hornet’s nest of trouble as they finalize their training to become an elite pilot in the Seraphim Squadron.
Earth has no idea what is going on at the Watcher's Next colony, but most of the experiments taking place are highly illegal. Misaki has been implanted with an illegal microchip that allows the person to project one's self and one's mind to wherever one desires. In this case, she has been projected into a fight that is happening inside of the quantum core.
Technology has allowed mankind to travel deep into space. A shuttle travels to Watcher's Nest, but is attacked by the alien race called the Ghouls. Misaki awakens from her controlled sleep and goes to aid the shuttle.
Everyone seems to know what they're doing they are doing pretty good all except Misaki. This girl cannot do anything right. Okay time to use real bullets. What's with her eyes they changed somehow looks a little freaky. Whenever Misaki is in any kind of danger for some reason she is somehow enhanced in every way.
Misaki and a few other new recruits are given permission to head into town. Misaki meets some new people and they soon become friends. After having a few drinks at the bar, the commander tells her she is late and to head back. Only now, a Ghoul has appeared inside the town...
A news reporter from Earth arrives at the Watcher's Next. He has special permissions and no one is allowed to touch him. His mission is to find out what is really going on at the colony.
The testing continues. Misaki and the other girls are tested on what would happen if certain conditions are met. After testing Susana, she becomes frightened and does not want to stay at the Watcher's Nest anymore. The commander tells Susana that in order to leave, her memory must be erased. This means two years of her life will be erased.
The reporter tricks Misaki into giving him her ID card so he can hack into the Watcher's Nest computer system. He promises her that she will not get into trouble as he will erase his tracks. As he steals data from the robot's head, he also reprograms it.
Misaki is found in a robotic suit unconscious on the quantum core. Misaki wakes up in the medical ward of the Watcher's Nest and doesn't know how she got there. Confused about seeing her dead father's face inside of a robot suit, she turns to the commander for clues.
The girls have graduated, but don't feel happy about it, and go off to do their own things. Misaki and her friends go out to have a nice dinner, but they have never used chopsticks before! Something is reveled as well...
The Ghouls attack again but some of the soliders are missing, so one of Misaki's friends goes alone. Ruxandra tries to hold off the Ghoul as long as possible, but reinforcements don't arrive in time and her battle armor is damaged.
The Ghouls have been attacking the Watcher's Next continuously. They have even begun appearing in the cities within the colony. Misaki goes to the city alone to visit a church to discover mysteries about her father.
The Ghouls attack in full force, being one of their first missions, every solider has been dispatched until the quantum barrier can be repaired. Misaki, in the heat of battle, mutates into a larger creature of what she is. She is rescued and put into a medical lab inside of a tube with liquid. It is discovered she has an illegal microchip in her head that allows the doctors to control feelings, moods, and what she does.
The commander gains full control of Misaki and sends her to battle once again by herself. The Watcher's Nest is is under attack yet again, but this time it is unable to use the quantum barrier. While she is fighting her battle, the commander monitors Misaki from a safe distance.
