Daisuke has got more troubles than any ten normal guys. Due to a strange quirk of genetics, Daisuke has been cursed with an ancient family affliction. Whenever he becomes enamore with the object of his desires, Daisuke finds himself transformed into the legendary thief Phantom Dark. The only way to return to his true form is for his true love to love Daisuke for himself; but when she’s only got eyes for Dark, how can Daisuke compete with himself?

1: Dark Revived
On his14th birthday, Daisuke tries to give a love letter to Risa, but he backs down when she says she wants them to stay good friends. When he gets home, he learns that he turns into Phantom Thief Dark when he fondly thinks of Risa. Although he is reluctant, his grandfather and mother send him to his first mission to steal a statue titled "the Sacred Maiden".
2: Rekindled Feelings
Dark's next mission is to steal a bird relief that is atop of the Central Church. However, Risa, who had a crush on Dark, makes Daisuke promise to go with her to see Dark late at night. Once Dark obtains the relief, he challenges Daisuke to escape without Dark's help, and the winner gets to do whatever he wants.
3: Whisper of the Unicorn
At school, Daisuke hears that some girls have mysteriously disappeared. Later that night, Riku gets frustrated with Risa’s constant infatuation with Dark, and retires to her room, only to disappear. Daisuke’s grandfather, Daiki, figures out that a Unicorn from a cursed painting may be kidnapping girls and sends Daisuke out to seal the Unicorn. Daisuke tries not to save Riku (and now Risa) without becoming Dark, but is stuck when he needs to use magic to enter the painting.
4: Between the Light and the Darkness...
Satoshi Hiwatari is a genius kid who goes to the same school as Daisuke, and also heads up the investigation to capture Dark. Satoshi suspects that Daisuke is Dark, and when Satoshi discovers Daisuke looking up his Alumnus Profile at school, he decides to test his theory. He sets up a trap that locks him and Daisuke in a chilled storage room, and he jimmied the locks so that even Daisuke couldn’t break the code.
5: Double Cooking
Today is cooking practice, which Risa hates. At cooking practice, she performs miserably and she and Daisuke are forced to do “cabbage shredding” after school. So she begs her twin sister, who is good at cooking, to ‘switch places’ with her so that she doesn’t have to do cabbage shredding. Things get really crazy when Daisuke has to leave for home before the after school cabbage shredding is finished, and uses With to transform into him and take his place.
6: St. White Memories
Emiko tells Daisuke how she met his father, Kosuke. Daisuke and Dark plan a nice birthday gift for Emiko and send in a warning letter saying that he would steal the world’s number one lady’s heart. Emiko, without knowing that it was sent by Daisuke and Dark, got upset about this fake (so she thought) warning letter and tried to capture the fake Dark. When Dark tells her that the warning letter was not fake and he came to steal her heart, it makes her happy.
7: Adonis in the Garden of Vows
The stone statue of Adonis, which Daiki and Daisuke tried to seal long time ago, gets retrieved from the ocean. This statue contained a spirit which they also refer to as Adonis. Daiki finds out that Adonis may be back reading a newspaper article. Dark tries to seal him because he drains lives out of women who fall in love with him by kissing them, so that he can live. When Dark finds Adonis, he realizes that Adonis changed and now is planning to die.
8: Menou’s Warning Letter
When Saehara goes to the art museum where Dark sent in his warning letter, he realizes there was a girl shown in his digital camera, although there was actually no girl around there. This girl, Menou Kurashina, is someone from the past who was not healthy and had to stay in bed all the time. When Daisuke’s grandfather was the Phantom Thief, he came to know her and became a friend. Since he liked seeing her happy face, he decided to give her a gift and left it by her bedside.
9: A Little Romance
With likes to go out these days and finds a rabbit who looks like him at a pet shop. He wanted this rabbit to be his girlfriend and tries to go to see her when he has a chance. One day this rabbit is sold and With goes missing. Riku and Daisuke look all over for him. It turns out that he wanted to go to a high place to look for the rabbit and went up to the top of a windmill. It starts raining and since he doesn’t like being wet, he gets weak and falls.
10: Portrait of a Musician
Daiki, Daisuke and Risa go to a memorial service of a world-famous violinist, Ehrlich Von Vandembagu. While Daiki is taking care of the paperwork to take the violin, this violin swallows Daisuke soul and sends him to the past. There, Daisuke sees what went on between his grandfather and Vandembagu. While fighting, Daiki gets knocked out and Daisuke tries to protect his grandfather, although he, too, gets attacked quite a bit by the curse of the violin.
11: The Temple of Neptune
Dark’s warning letter states this time that he will steal the “Horn of Neptune” from an underwater temple. The police force is out with high-tech equipment trying to capture Dark. As usual, Risa wants to see him, and so she looks for the entrance to the temple, following what her tarot cards told her. She finally meets Dark in the temple, but gets caught by Satoshi who sends her back right away. Satoshi finally traps Dark within a triangle that restrains Dark’s movement.
12: With Rutile...
Daisuke’s father, Kosuke, comes back after 12 years of traveling. Kosuke gives a replica of the “Rutile of Grief” to Daisuke the day before he goes out to steal it, telling him to keep it always with him. Knowing that the “Rutile of Grief” displayed in the museum was a fake one, Dark goes into the van where Satoshi is monitoring the security and demands the real one that Satoshi is holding. When Satoshi and Dark are fighting, Krad’s power is drawn out and he attacks Dark.
13: Eternal Guide
Dark’s target this time is the “Eternal Guide,” which is an abandoned statue in a ruined building. Risa, as usual, comes to this ruined building with Saehara to meet Dark, but instead they see Satoshi there. Although Satoshi wanted to handle the matter by himself, Krad comes out and renders Risa and Saehara unconscious. While Krad and Dark are fighting, the power of the stone that Satoshi put on “Eternal Guide” seals Risa and Saehara’s conscious along with Dark.
14: New Rival
Mio Hio is a transfer student who lived in the US and just came back. Almost immediately, she starts to hit on Daisuke, but he is more put off by her advances than attracted to her. Riku soon becomes really irritated by her obnoxious behavior, but Mio doesn’t seem to slow down. While in a swimming class, Mio drops a pendant in the water. Daisuke sees the pendant and tries to bring it back to Mio, but he gets paralyzed as soon as he grabs it and drowned.
15: Barbeque Panic
Riku and Risa are on their way to their summer house when their car breaks down nearby Daisuke’s house. They end up staying at Daisuke’s while their butler takes the car to the repair shop. Watching what was happening, Mio invites her self into Daisuke’s house. Since Daisuke’s mother, Emiko, is out grocery shopping, Riku ends up cooking breakfast for everyone. While at Daisuke’s, Mio acts like Daisuke’s girlfriend and goes to check out his bed, where he hid Risa’s portrait.
16: I Found Her...
Riku finds a stuffed bear that brings her childhood memory back. One day a ball hit her bear and knocked it toward a house people call haunted. A boy said it was his fault because he did not catch the ball right. Early next morning, she went to the house where she lost the bear and found that the boy went into the house to get it for her. When she goes to Risa’s room to talk about her bear, Risa is nowhere to be found. Risa, as usual, has gone to the place that Dark is going to show up.
17: A Summer without Dark
Daisuke and his classmates are on an island for a summer school trip, staying 5 nights. Mio is still trying to get Daisuke to wear the pendant and Satoshi is trying to warn Daisuke about her. She faints for some reason when she brings Daisuke to the beach where they can find singing sand. Seeing Daisuke being nice to her, she seems to start feeling bad about deceiving him. Still, she has to follow the order of her owner.
18: A Couple Under the Shooting Stars
On their way back, Riku falls from the path and twists her ankle. Daisuke, carrying her on his back, brings her back to the path. When she sees lightning, she holds Daisuke and there he feels his heart pounding, which makes him wonder who he actually likes. Risa meanwhile has begun to think that Daisuke may be like Dark when he grows up, and tries to warm up to him. When he arrives at Risa’s room, she tries to persuade him to stay with her.
19: Beautiful Heroine
Risa finds a letter that her grandmother, Rika, wrote to Dark and realizes that her grandmother also loved Dark deeply. At school, Daisuke’s class decides to do a play of “Ice and Snow” for their school cultural festival. When he arrives late that morning, he finds that the class decided to have Daisuke play the main character of the play - the heroine. Although Daisuke does not want to do this role, since everyone voted for him for this role, he cannot get out of it.
20: Because I Wanted to See You
Daisuke and his class continue practicing the play. When Dark hears about the story of “Ice and Snow” he thinks the story is too clean (a simple happy ending) and something is wrong because of that. Satoshi’s father keeps pressuring Mio to carry out the plan soon. Realizing that when she doesn’t want Daisuke to die in order to give herself life, she gives up on her own life and tries to get the pendant back from Riku before it is too late.
21: An Icy Voice Calling
Daisuki gets a cold on the day when he and his friends were supposed to practice for the play. Satoshi comes to see him and tells Daisuki that Mio moved out of town. He warns Daisuki to be careful, saying that something weird was happening. When Satoshi leaves, Daisuki's father says that he hopes Satoshi and Daisuki will become good frients. While asleep that night, Daisuki, controlled by the power of “Second Hand of Time”, is taken into the world he painted.
22: Ice and Snow
Dark, Riku and Risa all get taken into the world in Daisuke’s painting. Once in there, Dark goes and finds Daisuke, who does not remember who Dark is at first. When the snow stops, the magic power gets weakened and he gains back his mind. Dark goes back to where Riku and Risa are locked up with Daisuke and Daisuke starts drawing Risa’s room, saying that drawing the real world is the only way to connect those two worlds.
23: Second Hand of Time
Daisuke, who stayed behind, learns what the real story of “Ice and Snow” was about from Freedert, and is asked to keep drawing to give her world the power to keep existing so that she can keep waiting for her love, Elliott. In the real world, Daisuke’s father, Kosuke, finds the original “Ice and Snow” book, although it was actually titled “Ice and Dark.” From the book, they realize the sword in the story is probably the key to rescue Daisuke.
24: Snow Falls in the Heart
Krad, comes out when Satoshi is about to tell Dark what to do to save Daisuke. When Krad and Dark are fighting, Krad notices that Risa and Riku are there. Krad tries to harm Risa and Riku tries to stop him. Now this time he is hurting Riku, but when Risa asks Krad to stop and calls him “Hiwatari”, Satoshi regains control over his body. He goes to where Dark is and starts painting over Daisuke’s painting so that he can create an entrance for Dark to re-enter the world in the painting.
25: The Black Wings
One day people start noticing strange things happening. Phone lines aren’t stable. The TV signals are messed up. The tidal level is abnormally low. The water at the Fountain Park is dried up. The windmills stopped because the wind was too strong... And an earthquake. Some people remember similar things happened 40 years ago. Sensing the real problem, Daisuke’s family tells him about “The Black Wings”, the artwork from which Dark and Krad were born.
26: Eternal Dark
When Dark gets to the Central Art Museum where the Black Wings is, Satoshi’s father and Krad are waiting for him. While Dark is fighting with Krad, Daisuke finds himself in a place where he’s never been before. There he finds Satoshi who tells him that they are inside of Krad. Satoshi is getting ready for the ceremony to destroy his body so that he could defeat Krad. Daisuke tells him he shouldn’t do that.
